Beyond the Snapshot :: beginning photography class
This class is all about learning how to use any camera better. I’ll show you how you can get good pictures with something as simple as your camera phone. This introductory class will cover three key elements to taking better photographs: Light, Location, and Composition
By the end of the class you will have greater insight on how to take better photos of your kids, and be able to quickly identify why you love a picture, or why you don’t.
At the end of the hour lecture, we’ll head outside for a bit of show and tell. You’re welcome to bring your camera and try your hand at all of the new tricks you learned in class.

Beyond the Snapshot :: the DSLR camera workshop >> If you intend on taking this workshop, you must take the beginning photo class so everyone is on the same page.
Three hours of hands on learning with the goal of getting you to turn the dial from Auto to Manual! Make the most of your DSLR and learn to take amazing pictures just in time for summer vacations!
After we learn about camera basics and the settings, we will head outside for a live 1-hour shoot to practice what we’ve learned. Then back inside to learn basic editing. Simple tricks can make a huge difference!
Required reading: Brian Peterson’s Understanding Exposure
Class size will be limited to 5-7 people (only 1 spot left!). You will need to bring your DSLR and any lenses you may have. If you have a laptop, it would be helpful as we will go over Adobe’s Lightroom
