Sweet Danville baby has her 1st photography session with her gorgeous family!

Ohhh the pretty!  I can hardly stand it!  I walked away from this session on cloud nine.  No joke.  It was supposed to be a newborn session for a lovely couple I did a maternity session for last March, but after the baby girl arrived, the mama decided that she really wanted baby pictures rather than newborn pictures.  I was so happy we waited!  Not only did we get some amazing pictures with a well rested family, but I was also able to capture a bit of the baby girl’s sweet personality.

I’m featuring this session for two reasons.  First, it’s glorious!  I love it.  The second reason for featuring this family is their relaxed attitude in front of the camera.  I was so thrilled!  I could literally feel the calm energy when I walked into their beautiful home.  I had taken pictures of the parents before so I had an good idea of how we would work together, but children are always an unknown.   Turns out I didn’t have to ask for much because the kids all knew why they were there and were eager to be on set.  They looked at the camera with a quiet confidence that made me envious.  Why can’t my own kids do that?  More importantly, why can’t *I* do that?  I think that’s called the photographer’s curse – my own kids run when they see the camera coming, and I’m so used to being behind the camera that moving in front of it is extra intimidating!  ;)

So even though some times being in front of the camera can feel difficult, this family made it look easy.  They were all relaxed which helped make the session so lovely.  There was no pressure and we just did our thing.  So there you go folks.  My client tip of the week – Relax. Relax. Relax.  Here I’ll say it one more time for good measure: Relax!  My sessions are always fun and never painful – time zooms by and before you know it I’m packing up my lenses and hitting the road.  Have fun and enjoy your hour or two – it’ll really show in your pictures.

P.S. When I told the kids what a great job they were doing, they laughed and said “yeah, we do this a lot… our mom takes a lot of pictures.”  Haha!  Gotta love that!
